About

I began my undergraduate degree in Ancient History at The University of Birmingham in 2006 and graduated with a first in 2009, after completing a dissertation in the development of ancient Egyptian town planning.
I immediately began my MPhil(B) degree that same year, completing this is 2010.
During a break from studying I spent a month in Egypt excavating for the DAI at Elephantine in Upper Egypt.
Finally, in February 2011 I began a PhD at The University of Birmingham and a post as Postgraduate Curator of the Eton Myers collection of Egyptian antiquities while on loan to the University.
My current PhD is still in a formative state, but focuses primarily on the Egyptian society living within the Oryx Nome of Upper Egypt from the end of the Old Kingdom to the end of the 12th Dynasty. Much of this will be conjectural based on geographical studies of the Nile Valley, and other settlement sites known from around Egypt.
I am also on the organising committee for the Current Research in Egyptology Conference which will be held at the University of Birmingham from 27th to 30th March 2012. For further information visit our website http://www.crexiii.co.uk/ or email us at organizingcommittee@crexiii.co.uk
