About
Since 2008 I have been the Co-ordinator of the Birmingham Urban Theology Forum which seeks to bring faith & community and urban theologians and sociologists together in a dialogue about the nature of the relationship between faith and urban life: creating a bridge between praxis and reflection, academy and community.
In 2009 I began work as a Research Fellow in Urban Theology at the University of Birmingham where my 3 year research project focuses on the influence that the experience of a variety of forms of social exclusion has on the use of implicit and explicit religious discourse amongst a multi-faith and multi-ethnic cohort of urban youth across Birmingham. The project is intended to lead to a range of academic, faith-based and empowering community oriented outcomes.
During 2011 I hope to initiate an ongoing community education programme on faith & urban life aimed at creating a relfective space for faith & community group practitioners. I am currently working on editing a book based on twelve of the presentations made at the Forum since 2008.
