About

Dr Eugene Ch’ng is Senior Lecturer in Visualisation. Eugene specialises in interactive 3D, enhanced Virtual Environments, Artificial Life and Agent-based Modelling for marine and terrestrial ecology that requires large computing clusters for processing of agent-interaction and computer graphics rendering. The fusion of 3D visualisation and agent-based modelling is a unique strength that is applicable to a wide variety of research, especially in the reconstruction of past climate change scenarios and population dynamics in palaeoenvironments. Eugene's other research strand focuses on digital heritage and how new technologies (surface computing, VR, AR, pervasive devices, embedded systems, etc) play a role in the access of heritage objects, monuments and landscapes. The research aims to explore human behaviour in the multi-device access of digital heritage and how digital heritage (laser scanned objects, representation, etc) affects their views on the value of these objects.
