About
There is evidence within the literature that goals influence both social categorisation and stereotype activation. However, an understanding of the mechanism behind that influence is lacking. This suggests that a refinement of our understanding how goals influence social categorisation and stereotype activation is needed, as well as the development of second-generation theories investigating the processes and mechanisms.
I am particularly interested in internally generated goals (e.g., beliefs and values) versus externally imposed goals (e.g., Politically Correct standards).
