About
Nicki is a Lecturer in Social Work the University of Birmingham. A qualified social worker who worked with people with learning disabilities for over 20 years she has experience of working in statutory, voluntary and private sector services. In her current role she combines teaching and research interests in social work, social inclusion, social care and social justice; her particular interests are self-advocacy, inclusion and empowerment; issues of ethics and power and care relationships. She also has an interest in Qualitative research particularly narrative and the development of collaborative and participative research.
