About
I received a B.Sc in Psychology from the University of Ioannina (2009) and a M.Ed in Special Educational Needs(Autism in pupils) from the University of Birmingham (2011). Before, I receive a Coordination post in a NGO for children with intellectual dissabilities I completed two clinical internships in the Psychiatric Clinic, University Hospital of Ioannina and in the Centre for Children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Mental Health issues in Rhodes, Greece. On my later undergraduate years I was awarded a full-time scholarship for excellence in academic performance from the Stamatiou Foundation for Dodecanesian Students.
On my Master's Dissertation I examined the manifestation of self-injurious behaviour in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the school environment and the efficacy of the relevant teaching strategies and interventions available in England (Distinction).
Currently I am investigating the clinical characteristics of families and children with neurodevelopmental disorders who are at the highest risk for developing self-injurious and aggressive behaviour. I am funded from the Greek State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y) and I am actively involved in teaching activities with undergraduate students at the University of Birmingham, School of Psychology.
